Crazier and yet adamantly saner!

There are things that strike so close to the ground I grope, that each radiating implication from the strike must be followed, unearthed, sifted, and sorted for its usability as I hunt for and to substantiate the various social and psychological functions the writing practices of eminent visual artists play. Further the strike dove tails neatly linking  the research i am reading on Creativity, Pennebakers research in expressive writing and my own lived experience.

Frank X Barron

The primary strike initiated by Zorana Ivcevic Pringle yesterday from a podium at an APA div 10 presentation was a quote from Frank Barron in conjunction with some of Zorana’s ideations on active coping and ego resilience. This in  conjunction with Sandra Russ musings intro of concepts of primary process and adaptive regression which are equally relevant (though I had been previously pondering like behaviors from an alternate frame) is proving useful in the mulling of my own research interests.

Anyhow let me quit blathering and get to the primary strike that set the ground of my mind to excitation.

The creative… may be at once naive and knowledgable, being at home equally to primitive symbolism and to rigorous logic. He is both more primitive and more cultured, more destructive and more constructive, and occasionally crazier and yet adamantly saner than the average person. — Barron (1963)
