how very human

I meandered up to the barbed barrier hoping to touch the soft hide of a new one. knowing they’d be skittish, I ambled slowly. in a moment of unknowing felt fear just one darted away setting the whole entire clan herd into a mad running rush. coming to an abrupt halt within 40 yards as though reaching the end of their leash, each head whipped around to stare. on this quiet afternoon with only the sounds of the tamed wild I quickly noted rhythmic plopping sounds. took me a tic or two to identify what it was that I heard. ha.
